Columbus Dispatch - 78 year old designer, model to walk Fashion Week Columbus

Bea Foster struck a pose, one hand poised by her side and the other by her shoulder.

The 78-year-old former model from Westerville looked and felt gorgeous as she tried on the formal red dress during a fitting in the Berwick home studio of fashion designer Juan Jose Saenz-Ferreyros.

“I love it — the whole, everything. You know me. I don’t like my arms out, but this is perfect,” Foster said, referring to the sheer organza coat covering the embroidered mermaid-shaped gown.

Donning the very same dress, accessorized with 3-inch-tall platform shoes and fringed hoop earrings, Foster will show off her style Downtown today as a model at the High Fashion Tea Runway Show at the Westin Great Southern Columbus hotel — the kickoff event to Fashion Week Columbus, now in its 10th year.
